Board approves ESD service plan as presented

The Oakland School Board on Jan. 14 voted to accept the Education Service District (ESD) service plan after a brief presentation describing the plan as the ESD’s catalog of services for county districts.
The superintendent said the plan is largely a formality: "What you have there is essentially all of this it's part of their budgeting process, and that's all of the services that they offer to all of the schools of the county," he said. After a brief motion to accept the plan, the chair called for the vote; the motion passed by voice vote with no members recorded as opposed.
Board members had no additional substantive amendments and the board moved on to other business. The district included the ESD service plan on the agenda as an action item and completed the required acceptance vote during the meeting.
Next steps: the superintendent said the district will forward the board’s acceptance as required by the ESD process; no changes to district programs were proposed during the discussion.
