Board members also questioned whether a separate board-policy line requiring enrollment in language-arts courses every semester was still necessary, given transcript crediting and online course options.
One board member moved to amend the draft to remove the bolded sentence that required honors-diploma students to be enrolled in language-arts courses every semester (except early-college). The motion was seconded and adopted by voice vote; minutes show the sentence was struck from the draft during the meeting. Administration recommended phased implementation for the most substantive honors adjustments to allow current juniors/seniors runway to complete requirements.
