Bandon SD 54 committee adopts $20.26 million budget for 2025–26

The Bandon SD 54 budget committee voted May 21 to adopt a fiscal-year 2025–26 budget totaling $20,257,706 and to impose related taxes and appropriations.

A district staff member read the formal resolution, which detailed appropriations by fund: general fund $13,518,241; special revenue funds $4,198,916; debt service $546,549; and capital projects roughly $1,000,000, for a total adjusted budget of $20,257,706. The staff member said the adopted budget will be filed at the district administration office at 455 9th Street SW, Danville, Oregon.

The presenter said the budget maintains currently filled positions and current programs while including consolidations to increase efficiency and preserve services such as instruction, curriculum, and building maintenance. The resolution also included the district’s permanent tax rate and a debt-service levy; the reading noted a tax rate of $3.37 per $1,000 of assessed value for education and a separate debt-service levy of $451,358 for general obligation bond debt service.

Board members moved and approved Resolution 1 to adopt the budget and make the appropriations. The transcript records the adoption by voice vote; no roll-call tallies were provided in the record.

The committee also approved routine consent items, including minutes from Feb. 12, 2025, and the district calendar for the 2025–26 school year.
