The board took the bill-payment vote after a motion from a board member (Committee member, speaker 12) and a second; the chair called for the voice vote and the motion carried. Business presenter (speaker 9) told the board the change to adult lunch pricing was necessary because ODE has set a new minimum adult-lunch rate; the board moved and approved the amendment to set the lunch price at $5.25.
Other approved items included: first reading of policy EFA (local wellness policy), approval of a sixth-grade outdoor-school trip to Siskiyou Field Institute (presenter, speaker 14, said provider costs and reduced state reimbursement mean the district will seek cost savings), approval of a Stillwater Nursery internship flyer and two Bannock Community Youth Center event flyers for posting in district schools, and several routine minutes approvals. Most motions were carried by voice vote; recorded tallies were recorded as unanimous/ayes on the record when prompted by the chair.
The board discussed funding pressures during business-office remarks earlier in the meeting. The business officer (speaker 9) said ending fund balance has declined since ESSER/COVID relief funds were depleted and that auditors were on site recently; the auditors reportedly commended improved procedures and separation-of-duties controls. The business officer told trustees the audit visit went well and that purchase-order review processes had been strengthened.
What happens next: the approved price change will be reflected in the district nnual organizational resolution and in school food-service pricing. The board did not set any additional public hearings on these items at the meeting.
