District outlines demolition, salvage plans and community outreach for high school rebuild

“We actually have all of the items that are gonna going to be salvaged,” Speaker 6 said, and added staff will coordinate the traditions and innovation committee to determine placement of salvaged pieces in the new school.
Communications plans: Speaker 3 said the district will send a newsletter on Dec. 12 to about 3,000 email addresses, publish a social-media kickoff post the following Monday, and distribute a letter from the district and high school about logistics for families. A bond oversight committee meeting is set for Dec. 16 and a community meeting for Feb. 3.
Community concerns and logistics: Speaker 7 urged clearer web navigation — suggesting replacing or supplementing the word “bond” with “construction” and adding a prominent banner so residents can quickly find project details online. Board members and staff also discussed event logistics (restroom trailers, parking and spectator access) while construction is underway.
What remains to be finalized: the cost estimates for salvaged items, exact dates for some early bids, and neighborhood communications for events and demo vibration impacts. Staff committed to producing and publishing the salvage list and to follow up on site-specific logistics and safety communications.
