Board approves consulting contracts, policy updates and operations hire amid policy cleanup

The board addressed an emergent state requirement in policy G35 (standards of performance and conduct for teachers) to add language that took effect Aug. 25. District counsel recommended removing letter 'k' (professional development point totals) because the district no longer tallies PD points; trustees voted to strike letter 'k' while adopting the rest of the required language.
Trustees also approved hiring Ian Wolf as executive director of operations; the superintendent described Wolf's background in emergency management, safety and operations and trustees welcomed him and his wife to the meeting.
