Sidney students honored in 'Jacket Spotlight' awards

Trustees and school representatives recognized several students in the meeting's "Jacket Spotlight" segment.
From Sidney High School, Payson Lewis was cited for strong academic performance, maintaining top grades in Spanish 1 and staying focused after knee surgery. The presenter described Payson as "respectful, well mannered" and a role model.
Sidney Middle School recognized Sydney Johnson III, a fifth‑grade student praised for leadership, curiosity and a positive attitude. Northwood's honoree, Harlan Cook, was noted for imagination and classroom participation. Longfellow recognized first‑grader Liam Case for eagerness to learn and helpfulness. Pre‑K student Jasper Osborne was also acknowledged for gains in letter and sound identification and classroom participation.
The district planned to take photographs of the recognized students and share them on the district Facebook page. Parents and family members were invited to come forward for plaques and a group photo.
