Board approves consent agenda, moves forward on turf project solicitation and energy contract extension

The board approved the financial reports and invoices for the first quarter after Chair summarized that year-to-date revenues exceeded expenditures by about $2.6 million and the general fund balance was nearly $15 million.
The board also authorized staff to solicit statements of qualifications for construction management-at-risk services for the district’s soccer turf and track project; the resolution authorizes advertising and a scoring process for qualifications, not the selection of a contractor. "This resolution authorizes us to solicit for those contractors that have the qualifications to bid," the Chair said.
Separately, the board approved an amendment to the Southwestern Ohio Educational Purchasing Council master services agreement with IGS Energy that extends district participation through calendar year 2028. The Chair said cooperative pricing remains competitive and recommended locking in an additional year under the current agreement.
The purchase-services contract consent agenda was approved with one item (chilled-text portion) removed for reevaluation; facilities staff outlined work phasing for entry-door replacement and HVAC controller upgrades to occur over school breaks (Thanksgiving, Christmas, spring) to minimize classroom disruption.
All motions on the consent and contract items carried as presented; board members asked staff to finalize schedules and to provide further cost details for items pulled for review.
