According to the district, Seals Construction struck buried conduit that stretched the fiber conduit (the fiber itself was not broken). The administration proposed accepting approximately $150,000 in insurance proceeds and contracting Gutenkoff to perform repairs when replacement fiber is available. The superintendent/COO explained that the district had negotiated among Seals Construction, its insurer, the district’s insurer and counsel and recommended board acceptance of the funds.
