Pickerington Local board approves Ridgeview renovation amendment, personnel items and routine business

At its Feb. 23 meeting the Pickerington Local School District board approved several consent and action items that collectively advance facilities work, personnel changes and routine purchasing.

The consent agenda—moved and approved by roll call—included personnel recommendations such as the recommended principal appointment of Erin T. Jones, retirements, contract rescissions, certified and support hires, supplemental spring‑sports contracts and several early graduations at Pickerington Academy.

Rob Weinheimer presented Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) Amendment 7.2 for Ridgeview Junior High work: the package covers doors, frames and hardware; flooring and painting; earthwork and landscaping; a new playground; required emergency‑response system work; demolition and asphalt. Weinheimer said the work will ready the building to receive fifth‑ and sixth‑grade students and will be funded from construction dollars rather than the operating fund. The board approved GMP 7.2 by roll call.

The board also authorized a lease with Huntington National Bank to replace an aging cash‑processing/counting machine used for daily district cash operations; Mister Walsh explained the system’s purpose and the district approved the lease.

Other routine approvals on consent included the updated FY26 appropriation resolution (to accommodate construction activity and a new Ohio school‑bus safety grant) and two approved job descriptions (school counselors K–6 and 7–12) on second reading.

Vote: These items passed by roll call (minutes, appropriation resolution, consent agenda, GMP amendment, and lease authorization were all approved).
