Eastview students and the student council report school successes and upcoming events

Eastview Elementary staff, student council members and advisors presented highlights from the school year and student activities to the Madison Local Board.
Miss Wigden and Mrs. Thomas led a presentation outlining Eastview’s mission, growth in reading and math (midyear improvement noted), kindness initiatives such as a cafeteria "forest of kindness" and service fundraising (senior citizen support, United Way contributions). The school described traditions including Grandparent Lunch Week and a Halloween parade, and literacy efforts such as a one-school book program.
Student council president Elise Huggins reported on secondary-school athletics (softball’s win streak; baseball’s 11–0 victory over Clyde), individual achievements (freshman Kalia Clapper recorded 17 strikeouts in a game), drama and performance activities, upcoming events (prom on May 3; PBIS event on May 9), and state and national career-and-technical competitions for students competing in FCCLA and SkillsUSA.
Board members applauded the students and staff; no motions or budget actions were taken as part of the presentation.
