Mayfield School District board swears in members, elects Ronnie Panaro president and Jolene Grieve vice president

The Mayfield School District Board of Education held its 2026 organizational meeting, swearing in newly elected and re-elected board members and electing its officers for the year.
Clerk (speaker S1) administered the oath of office to newly elected and returning members, who each affirmed support for the U.S. and Ohio constitutions and pledged to "faithfully and impartially discharge" their duties for Mayfield School District in Cuyahoga County, Ohio.
The board then took nominations for president. A board member nominated Ronnie Panaro for president; the nomination was seconded and, following a roll-call vote, Panaro was elected. The board likewise nominated Jolene Grieve for vice president; Grieve was elected by unanimous roll call.
The board approved a slate of routine resolutions: procedures for treasurer duties, a waiver of reading the official minutes at regular meetings, and resolutions pertaining to the superintendent and the director of pupil services. Members also approved a set of committee and representative appointments for 2026, designating representatives and alternates for legislative liaison duties, the Ohio School Boards Association delegate, career technical education representation, tax incentive review, a superintendent’s advisory committee, school safety, and a Maple City Report policy committee, among others.
The board voted to maintain its annual membership in the Ohio Education Policy Institute for 2026. With those matters complete, the body moved to adjourn and approved the motion by roll call.
