Euclid Board of Education recognizes December students, staff, faculty and a parent

Chris Paporis, superintendent of the Euclid Schools, opened the Euclid Board of Education meeting by recognizing four students, two classified staff members, a faculty member and a parent as the district’s honorees for December. Paporis read formal resolutions naming each recipient and highlighted their contributions to Chardon Hills STEM School.
Paporis said, “Let it be resolved that the Euclid City School District proudly celebrates the academic achievement, character, and personal growth of its students,” before naming the students of the month. The board recognized Lulu Pasteur (first grade), Nona Blaha (third grade), Isaiah King (fourth grade) and Trandon Davis (fifth grade). Paporis described Lulu as a classroom leader who shows respect and kindness; Nona as hardworking and a role model; Isaiah as a dedicated learner who joined Chardon Hills in 2024 and has made strong progress; and Trandon as a student-leader active in student council, safety patrol, library duties, morning announcements and orchestra.
The board then honored classified staff members Kyle Karpowski, the district’s head custodian, and Jack Bundy, a BCBA therapist who joined Chardon Hills this year. Paporis praised Karpowski’s work maintaining the building and grounds and said staff and parents have commented on how well the school is maintained. He described Bundy as providing behavioral support to students while building strong, calm relationships.
Paporis called forward Amanda (recorded in the transcript with variant spellings) as faculty member of the month, noting she is a kindergarten teacher with 24 years of experience, six of them at Chardon Hills, and that she serves on the DLT, BLT and MTSS teams and volunteers for district learning activities. The board also recognized Teresa Carter, parent of Cameron Carter, for PTA leadership and for launching parent cafes to strengthen family engagement; Paporis noted Carter’s service on the board of Step Forward and the Ohio Family Engagement Center state advisory council.
Each recognition was read into the record as a resolution and the honorees were applauded. The meeting then proceeded to other agenda items.
