The Cuyahoga Heights Board of Education voted to fill a board vacancy and swore in Amanda Abigail Apti on Feb. 17.
Board members approved a resolution to appoint Apti to the unexpired term of Matt Rush, ending Dec. 31, 2027. The treasurer read the resolution summarizing the appointment, and the motion to appoint was moved and seconded; the roll-call vote was recorded as 4–0 in favor.
After the appointment, the treasurer administered the oath of office. The appointee responded, "I do," when asked to solemnly swear to support the U.S. and Ohio constitutions and to faithfully discharge her duties. Board members congratulated Apti after the swearing-in.
No additional discussion or debate on the appointment was recorded in the meeting minutes. The board adjourned the meeting shortly afterward.
