Cuyahoga Heights board adds vendors, approves Chromebook and server purchases

The Cuyahoga Heights Board of Education on Feb. 17 approved several consent items that the district said will prepare it for upcoming facilities work and technology upgrades.
Treasurer (speaker 2) told the board it was adding three vendors to the district’s accounting system and cited CentiMark Corporation as the vendor the district expects to use for a future roofing agreement. "That is estimated to be $720,000 whenever we do look to approve that agreement," the treasurer said during the consent-agenda review.
The board also approved two purchase orders over $5,000: a server migration for $6,840 and a purchase of Chromebooks and licenses priced at $24,580. Technology staff member Matt Hartman (listed in meeting materials as Mr. Hartman) explained the timing: "The Chromos we bought for $240 last year are now $360," noting chip shortages and rising prices as the reason the district opted to buy earlier than usual.
The treasurer additionally presented the district’s February 2026 financial forecast. After discussion the board approved the consent items by roll call; the motion passed 4–0.
The CentiMark addition places the district in position to execute a larger roofing contract once final legal and procurement steps are complete; board members were clear the vendor was being added to the accounting system now and that firm contract approval would come later. The superintendent and treasurer indicated the Chromebook purchases will be deployed to fourth graders next year and that some extra units were ordered to accommodate enrollment changes.
What happens next: the procurement process for the roofing work will continue with legal review before any contract is executed, and technology staff will schedule the server migration once board paperwork is finalized.
