Carlisle Local board reports clean audit, approves tax rates, small grant amendment and donation

The Carlisle Local School District board on March 25 accepted a clean audit, approved tax rates set by the Warren County budget commission, approved a modest increase to a Title IV grant appropriation and accepted a donation for student resources.

The board president reported the district’s audit is complete and characterized the result as a "clean audit," saying it would be filed with the State of Ohio on Thursday, March 28. "As you saw, the audit was a clean audit again this year," the president said.

The board moved to accept the tax rates and amounts as determined by the county budget commission; the motion carried on a roll call vote. The superintendent described the county process that produces the certified rates and amounts the board must accept each March.

Separately, the board approved a single appropriation modification to increase spending authority for a Title IV grant by roughly $500 to allow the district to spend the additional funds. The motion to approve the Title IV appropriation modification was moved, seconded and approved by roll call.

The board also accepted a $957.50 donation from Rock and Rose Adams to the district resource coordinator, Zana Miller, designated for needy handlers in the district; that motion passed by roll call.

The meeting record shows minutes from multiple recent special and regular meetings were presented and approved during the same session. No fiscal surprises or major budget changes were reported during the financial update.
