Coventry Local School Board approves personnel moves, contracts, student fees and a donation

($2,250) for the 2025–26 school year. The district voted to join the Title III consortium through the Summit County Educational Service Center; Coventry’s share was listed as $2,348.67 to support English‑learner services.
The board also approved continuation of breakfast programs at all buildings, updated student fees (the only change noted was a $10 fee for a new Advanced Qualitative Reasoning (AQR) program), and an updated CHS student handbook change to comply with state law banning cell phones between the first and last bell. The board accepted a $5,000 donation for the high‑school weight room from the Ducks of Portage Lakes; the superintendent thanked the donors, saying the contribution is “awesome.”
Under treasurer recommendations, the board approved a financial item over $5,000 (exhibit T1), which included a $5,750 line item for middle‑school football uniforms. The superintendent noted that many non‑staff contracts are contingent on receipt of required background checks for coaches.
