Superintendent Fisher highlights 67 staff milestones, nine retirees and delays to new track project

Fisher said the district recognized 67 staff members for years-of-service milestones, ranging from first-year employees to staff with more than three decades on the job. He named nine retirees who will be leaving the district: Penny Baird (33 years), Michelle Fitzpatrick (35), Randy Glover (32), Tracy Glover (32), Barb Eiser (30), Phyllis Lilly (39), Robin Mobley (29), Nora Tonka (34) and David Towne (35).
On facilities, Fisher reported the track project will not resume immediately; crews discovered inconsistencies in the initial material on the starting lines and will remove and replace that section with new asphalt. He said work is expected to resume around July 7, and that the district is using the delay to address leveling between field and track surfaces and other finishing tasks. Fisher also noted ongoing painting and building-cleaning efforts and said staff and the technology director will provide additional updates to the board in July.
