At its Nov. 18 meeting, the Canal Winchester Board of Education voted by roll call to approve several action items included on the agenda.
The board approved the five‑year forecast after discussion of enrollment, state revenue uncertainty and the district’s participation in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). Treasurer Roberts presented the forecast and said full‑day kindergarten and CEP participation were major drivers of improved projected balances.
The board also approved a resolution authorizing chilled‑water (chiller) modifications (a mechanical upgrade to add redundancy and efficiencies at an elementary building) and adopted the 2025‑26 school calendar (which had been presented at first reading in October). The board approved a reimbursement for board member Barnes’s expenses incurred at the capital conference; one board member registered an abstention on that reimbursement vote.
All motions were approved by roll call. The meeting then moved into a brief recess and the board entered executive session to discuss personnel matters; the open session was adjourned after that motion.
