Bradford school leaders say teacher certification delays will pause several CCP courses

Administrators told the Bradford Exempted Village Board of Education that staffing and certification limits will force the district to suspend several College Credit Plus (CCP) courses for the upcoming year and to correct credit listings.

"We do have to change, and, honestly, it probably should have been done last year as well, but we can no longer offer the CCP classes for chemistry, physics, anatomy, and physiology..." the principal said, explaining the assigned teacher is not yet certified by Edison State. The district announced several course-title changes (for example, math modeling to "advanced quantitative reasoning") and corrected a credit-amount typo so relevant classes list 1.25 credits rather than the erroneous prior entry.

Administrators said the certification issue is temporary; the teacher is expected to obtain credentials in the coming years. The board was also briefed on new electives the district plans to offer, including a Western civilization history option, a history-of-the-Supreme-Court course, FFA leadership, marketing and small-business management tied to a new business teacher's experience.

Board members stressed the importance of transparent communication for affected students and families. The district said it will return with additional information when the teacher's certification status is resolved and when formal course approvals are finalized at a future meeting.

The changes discussed were informational and administrative; no formal vote was recorded to reverse instructional requirements during the meeting.
