The Tri Valley Central School District Board of Education on June 12 approved tenure for seven probationary teachers and recognized scholar athletes and retirees during its year‑end meeting.
Principals and administrators recommended tenure for: Megan Gray (school media specialist/library), Jessica Seeley (elementary education), Jessica Diamond (school media specialist/library), Julia Gonzales (home economics), Deidre Hallinan (secondary social studies), Nicole Mace (science), and Nicholas Pack (math). Each recommendation was followed by a board motion and a unanimous vote to appoint the teachers to tenure effective Sept. 1, 2025, with the resolutions citing compliance with Education Law section 3013 and the Board of Regents rules.
Principal Kevin Carbone presented nominations for several elementary candidates and described Gray and Seeley's classroom contributions; secondary principal Amanda Eberly introduced library and secondary candidates, noting their advising roles and extracurricular contributions. The board publicly recognized the newly tenured teachers and invited them to stand so the audience could see them.
The meeting also included presentations honoring the district's spring scholar athletes and a student tribute recommending a citation be presented to Walter Satowski in recognition of his military service and community volunteering. Superintendent Erin Long thanked retirees and tenured staff and said the district would celebrate graduates and end‑of‑year events.
All tenure motions recorded at the meeting carried unanimously, and the board closed the recognitions with congratulatory remarks to the staff and students.
