Tri Valley board approves audit, budget calendar, contracts and several MOAs; sets May 19, 2026 budget vote

The Tri Valley Central School District Board of Education approved a slate of routine business on Nov. 13, 2025, including acceptance of the external auditor's report, the 2025–26 budget calendar and the date for the district budget vote and board election.
Board members voted unanimously to set the 2026 budget vote and member election for Tuesday, May 19, 2026. The board also approved the proposed 2025–26 budget calendar, with superintendent staff noting state-aid projections expected the first week of December and reserving the option to amend calendar dates if needed.
The board approved claims warrant number 6 dated Sept. 11, 2025, and authorized payment totaling $380,110.33. Members discussed a bus-charge for the Never Sink Track Club’s travel to Arizona; the superintendent said the district covers athlete transportation to and from airports as it does for other teams. The board also approved payment of $153,940 to Sullivan BOCES for contract invoice C0007-26; officers explained that component-district charges cover shared rental and capital costs and are allocated based on average daily attendance.
Other unanimous approvals included multiple policy adoptions and regulations (including student records, purchasing authority, data privacy and family/medical leave), appointment of claims auditors from Sullivan BOCES, establishment of an extracurricular account for the Class of 2031, acceptance of donations (including apples and in-kind items), and a series of memoranda of agreement and memoranda of understanding covering cheerleading, staffing differentials, a driver 19-A MOU and personnel items.
The board approved mergers of athletic teams for the 2025–26 school year, combining Tri Valley’s wrestling and Alpine ski teams with Fallsburg Central School District for the season as described in the applications attached to the public agenda.
The board approved a Tri Valley Teachers Association contract amendment (addendum B, nurse’s salary) and accepted auditor reports for 2024 and 2025 as presented by Nugent & Hauser, PC. Tax-collection affidavits were also approved to return uncollected amounts to Ulster County ($163,618.95) and Sullivan County ($173,514.22) for collection under applicable law.
The meeting ended with a procedural announcement: the board chair said he had been elected Town of Neversink justice and will resign his board seat effective Dec. 31; the board will hold an internal election for president at its Dec. 18 meeting.
