The Suffern Central School District Board of Education adjourned into an executive session during its regular meeting Tuesday to review the employment history of a pedagogical employee, the Board Chair said.
Board business opened with a roll call in which the Chair asked that the record reflect all board members were present. The Chair then said, “At this time, the chair will entertain a motion to go into executive session for the purposes of reviewing with the superintendent of schools and assistant superintendent for human resources, employment history of pedagogical employee of a particular person.”
A motion to enter executive session was recorded in the meeting as having been made (noted in the record as “Post.”) and seconded. The Chair called for a vote; members present answered “aye,” and the Chair recorded no opposition or abstentions. The board then adjourned to executive session and announced it would return to public session at approximately 6:30–7:00 p.m.
The transcript does not name the employee under review, nor does it record any substantive discussion or vote on personnel matters in open session. No statutes, resolutions, or additional authorities were cited on the public record during the portions of the meeting provided.
The board left for executive session; the public portion of the meeting was expected to resume later the same evening.
