Suffern, N.Y. — Architects from Mammasi told the Suffern Central School District board on Jan. 6 that the district’s buildings “have strong bones” but need extensive renovations to modernize instructional spaces, co-locate student services and address athletic and site deficiencies ahead of any referendum planning.
The presentation, led by Tina Masidi Seas and senior project architect Pierije Pankaldi of Mammasi, identified recurring problems at the high school, middle school and elementary schools: ambiguous or unsecured main entrances and lobbies, dispersed guidance and nursing suites, music and technology rooms that lack acoustic or programmatic design, underused shop and lab spaces, and outdoor facilities…
