Southampton board grants tenure to two staff members after presentations for three candidates

The Southampton Union Free School District board moved to approve personnel items that granted tenure to two district employees after in‑meeting presentations and statements from colleagues.

An administrator presented Stephanie Moran for tenure as a bilingual speech‑language pathologist, citing her BA from Saint Joseph’s, a master’s degree in communication disorders from LIU, bilingual credentials and district service across multiple buildings. Moran submitted an audio message thanking colleagues and administrators.

The board also heard a detailed recommendation for Crystal Reiner, who previously worked in sociology and social work and holds certifications in early childhood, childhood education, special education (K–12) and as a middle‑school generalist. Presenters described Reiner’s co‑teaching in grades 7–8, case management responsibilities and her support for colleagues and students.

A district administrator recommended Ashley B. White for tenure, outlining her progression from teacher’s aide to bilingual teaching assistant since 2017, her use of culturally responsive practices informed by time living in Costa Rica, and her role in building classroom routines and vocabulary supports.

The president moved to approve personnel items granting tenure to Crystal Reiner (effective 12/18/2025) and Ashley B. White (effective 01/02/2026) as listed on the agenda. The clerk conducted a roll call; at least two named members voted yes and the motion carried. Board members then recessed for a brief celebration of the tenure recipients.
