Seaford athletics director reports high participation, scholar‑athlete recognition and new streaming tech

Mr. White reviewed physical education curriculum aligned to New York State health standards, described sports-medicine coursework and emergency-response drills, and highlighted an athletic-leadership program that sends student leaders to workshops and then to mentor peers. He emphasized both on-field accomplishments and academic recognition: 12 of 15 teams were named scholar‑athlete teams last year, cheer won back-to-back state game-day titles, and several students went on to play in college.
The presentation also covered technology for athletics: portable and fixed 'huddle' cameras for live streaming, film sharing and statistics to aid recruiting. Mr. White said the district added cameras for baseball and softball and is expanding coverage for indoor and outdoor sports.
Mr. White thanked the booster club for funding items such as wall padding and backstop padding, and highlighted inclusion work by Challenger Athletics. He closed by recognizing coaches and staff for their work supporting student athletes.
The board did not provide participation denominators for the full district roster or dollar amounts for booster-club purchases during the presentation.
