Shoreham — In addition to substantive presentations and debates, the Shoreham-Wading River Board of Education conducted routine business Jan. 27, approving minutes, auditing items, personnel recommendations and a block of resolutions.
The board approved the meeting agenda and numerous consent items by voice vote (most recorded as 6-0). In the personnel section the board welcomed two new coaches: Paul Longo (head football coach) and Robert De Silva (inaugural varsity girls flag-football coach). The board also accepted a donation from the Miller Avenue PTO for a memorial plaque in memory of a former student, Don Riccardi.
Votes recorded in the meeting included approval of the Jan. 6 public meeting minutes, the December treasurer's report and several instructional and business resolutions; all were adopted without roll-call opposition on the night's consent calendar.
The meeting adjourned by unanimous voice vote.
