Seaford students, athletes and staff recognized; speech-language hire welcomed

Superintendent Dr. Pecora thanked the buildings and grounds crew for clearing snow and preparing campuses, and provided specific postseason dates and locations for district teams, including girls basketball on Feb. 26 at Farmingdale State and boys basketball on Feb. 28 at Farmingdale State. Dr. Pecora also announced that Christina Winters, a speech and language pathologist who previously worked part time with the district and has degrees from Adelphi University, is joining the district full time as a probationary faculty member; the administration said the pupil personnel services department endorsed her appointment.
In closing comments the Chair thanked facilities staff (naming Mr. Costa), recognized the Seaford Symphony and PTSA for monetary and in-kind donations to music supplies and picnic tables, and noted a Bealler family donation of a drum set to Harvard School. The Chair also welcomed Ms. Winters "officially" and reminded the audience the next budget presentation will be March 11.
