Pleasantville students highlighted for arts, competitions and athletics

The speaker also noted a storytelling visit by Sheila Arnold, who portrayed Ona Judge for seventh graders.
Academically and athletically, the Science Olympiad team sent 48 students to compete remotely across 18 challenges. The high school reported the start of winter sports; cross country runners competed at the New York State Championship, where Clara Schindler finished 18th and earned All-State honors for the fourth straight year, and Sean Dooley placed 12th and earned his first All-State recognition. The speech and debate team also competed recently, and high school counselors hosted an informational session about SchoolLinks for families. A high school talent show is scheduled for 7 p.m. next week.
