The Poughkeepsie City School District board approved three walk-on resolutions during its Feb. 4 business meeting.
The board first walked on and approved Resolution No. 26.32, which the chair described as the memorandum of agreement between the district and the Poughkeepsie Public School Paraprofessional Association, Local 3209, Council 66, AFSCME, AFL-CIO. The motion to walk on and the approval were made and carried by voice vote.
The board then approved a ratifying amendment with CSEA (described in the agenda as covering non-instructional nurses, maintenance and cafeteria personnel) and subsequently approved a set of budget transfers under Resolution No. 26-322. Motions to move and second each approval were made from the floor; trustees voted "Aye" on each motion and the chair declared the resolutions passed.
The board did not provide a roll-call tally in the meeting transcript; approvals were recorded by voice vote. Board members discussed procedural items earlier (for example, requests to pull consent items and to develop trip cover-sheet templates) but there was no substantive debate on the agreements during the vote sequence.
Staff said more detail on particular contract terms can be provided on request or in personnel briefings.
