Millbrook CSD asks parents of students receiving special education services to complete statewide survey

Mrs. Naarti, from PPS, said the New York State Education Department and the Potsdam Institute for Applied Research are surveying parents of children receiving special education services; participation is voluntary, confidential and intended to improve parent involvement practices.
Mrs. Naarti, speaking from PPS (Pupil Personnel Services), said the New York State Education Department is conducting a parental involvement survey for parents of children receiving special education services and that the department is working with the Potsdam Institute for Applied Research on the effort.
"By taking this voluntary survey, you will provide information that will help school districts improve how they involve parents in their children's special education programs," Mrs. Naarti said, noting responses are confidential. She asked parents to complete the survey when they receive it, online or by mail.
Dr. Watkins also promoted the Millbrook Listening Project, a yearlong community listening campaign, and noted a listening session scheduled for Dec. 10 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Millbrook Library. The district is encouraging families and community members to attend the session to share input.
