Board presenters used the meeting to celebrate recent student achievements: the junior-senior high band won top honors at a recent competition, students attended field trips to Lake George and Hershey High School, and the district reduced many student trip costs through fundraising and boosters.
"This is absolutely incredible," a presenter said of the band's competition results. A booster/teacher presenter noted efforts to lower trip costs significantly and thanked donors and the booster group for equipment and support that made the trips possible. The Chair also praised the program, saying the band has "a great membership" and expressed thanks for the positive impact on students.
The board also announced graduation-related items: the senior class selected Beth Hughes to give the commencement speech, the district celebrated its valedictorian and salutatorian ceremonies and recognized 16 seniors who plan to continue athletics at the collegiate level.
Presenters asked the community to continue support for extracurricular programs and thanked volunteers, chaperones and staff for their work. These items were presented as informational highlights rather than action items.
