Personnel: The board approved tenure appointments (item 6.1) and approved most personnel items en bloc (items 7.1–7.15 with two pulled items 7.4 and 7.11 voted on separately). Staff clarified administrative transitions, including Bob Montgomery’s resignation and a July 1 staffing change with Lauren Masa assuming Montgomery’s prior position while Montgomery moves to the assistant superintendent role (previously approved).
Athletics and extracurriculars: The board approved cooperative arrangements allowing Marcellus students to participate on other districts’ teams when needed — a boys ice hockey combination with Syracuse City School District and a varsity wrestling combination with Onondaga Central School District for 2024–25 — and authorized an independent girls swim-team arrangement with Skaneateles Central School District that uses Skaneateles facilities and coaching during the regular season.
Curriculum and policy: The board adopted a list of trade books for 2024–25 for grade-level reading and approved the second and final reading of policy 6213 (probation and tenure), aligning probationary periods with state-law guidance.
