The Manchester-Shortsville Central School District Board of Education on Jan. — approved a new collective-bargaining agreement with the district's Civil Service Employees Association unit covering July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029, and ratified necessary funding for the contract following a motion and voice vote.
Board members moved and seconded the motion on the superintendent's recommendation; the CSEA unit had ratified the terms on Nov. 5, 2025. The resolution directed administrators to provide the funds needed for the agreement. The board's action was described as the culmination of contract negotiations and was carried by voice vote.
The board also waived a second reading and approved several policies after the policy committee's review. The chair read the resolution approving policy numbers as presented in board documents; members voted in favor with no recorded opposition.
Separately, the board approved the establishment of a middle-school trip club to manage planning and administration of middle-school trips (the Washington, D.C., trip was cited as the primary planned trip). The action moves trip oversight out of student council into a dedicated club and passed on a voice vote.
The consent agenda and CSE/CPSE recommendations were also approved earlier in the meeting as part of standard personnel and special-education business. The board announced plans to celebrate a long-time district retiree at a future meeting.
What happens next: Administrators will execute the CSEA agreement funding and return to the board with any implementation details as required by district policy and contract provisions.
