Board approves termination of employee, accepts resignation and appoints coaches

The JOHNSBURG CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT board voted to approve several personnel actions, including a termination, multiple coaching appointments and the acceptance of a resignation.
Chair (S4) presented a resolution accepting the superintendent's recommendation to terminate the employment of Taslim Johnson, effective retroactive to Oct. 8, 2024. The motion was made by Chris and seconded by Tom; the board recorded one abstention and the resolution carried.
The board also acknowledged staff and approved a JCSTA stipend to be split among Joe San Antonio, Peter Morehouse and Matt Braun (Minerva Central School). It approved coaching appointments for the 2024–25 season, including co-appointments of Caitlin Bennett and Allison Gagneux for girls' modified basketball, and appointments for boys' teams including Aaron Chambers as boys' varsity coach. Motions for these appointments were moved and seconded and recorded as approved.
In addition, the board accepted the resignation of Elizabeth Geely, business office official, effective Nov. 2, 2024; the motion was moved by Tom and seconded by Sarah and carried.
Board members did not take further public action on personnel details at the meeting; a previously announced executive-session adjournment for personnel took place as part of the agenda.
