Students Donna Perez and William Brooks join Lake Placid board as ex officio members

Perez said she joined the district from Mexico four years ago and is "really excited to be part of this." Brooks, who said his family has lived in the community for about 20 years and that his mother works at the elementary school, said he hopes students will feel comfortable speaking to a fellow student representative.
Brooks reported on recent student events, including homecoming turnout and upcoming playoffs, and highlighted senior and junior activities like a holiday house fundraiser and a community parade float project. The board thanked the students and encouraged them to interject when topics pertain to the student experience.
No formal action was required; the student ex officio seats are advisory and intended to provide classroom and student-life perspective at board meetings.
