Personnel and volunteers: The board approved the resignation of Heather Baghera as an attendance aide effective Oct. 24. It approved a contingent resignation and appointment arrangement for Jessica (Jess) LaFrance — moving an appointment date to Oct. 28 to align payroll — and clarified that the LaFrance position is a 10-month (full-time) attendance-aide appointment. The board also approved volunteer Ellen Angler and added Ruth Stillleggins to the substitute list. Additional appointments approved included Sonia Frohnner (probationary part-time teacher aide), Sarah Garcia (probationary part-time bus/teacher aide), Olivia Carolli (long-term substitute school counselor, tentative Dec. 9–June 22) and Carly Murray (long-term substitute physical-education teacher, tentative Dec. 16–Mar. 10). Board members moved and approved each item by voice vote.
Athletics and partnerships: The board approved Hamilton’s participation in combined sports programs for the 2024–25 school year including girls varsity lacrosse with Casanova (tentatively 1 student) and swimming with Sherburne and Earlville (tentatively 2 students). The board also approved a partnership with Waterville Central School District for the 2024–25 indoor varsity track season.
Finance, equipment and trips: The board accepted monetary donations as listed in meeting materials and voted to surplus excess equipment deemed unusable, with staff discussion noting many devices dated from 2019. The board approved a SUNY Brockport dual-credit overnight trip (Feb. 7–9) with standard safety caveats and reserved the right to cancel if student safety concerns arise.
Why it matters: The personnel approvals fill classroom and student-support roles and confirm athletic arrangements that allow students to participate in programs otherwise unavailable at district scale. Accepting donations and surplusing old equipment affect district budgets and asset management; approving the dual-credit trip expands student learning opportunities.
