Board members voted by voice to establish a capital reserve fund not to exceed $2,000,000 and to authorize serial general obligation bonds in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $1,015,762 to finance acquisition of school buses and related equipment. Chair (speaker 1) introduced the bond authorization at the meeting; Superintendent Mike Bennett (speaker 2) earlier described the district’s ongoing capital work.
The board also approved a slate of vendor contracts related to the 2022 capital project: a general construction contract with Buncoff General Contractors Inc. for $6,533,000; a mechanical construction contract (Compido Plumbing & Heating Inc.) for $2,000,100; an electrical construction contract for approximately $820,800; and a plumbing contract with Chris Afully Mechanical LLC for $1,369,500. The board approved additional service contracts, including a contract with Pioneer Occupational Therapy LLC for occupational therapy services (07/01/2024–06/30/2026) and a contract with Oak Hill School for the 07/01/2024–06/27/2025 school year.
The board also authorized administrative actions including approval of minutes (05/13/2024), acceptance of finance reports for the month ending 05/31/2024 and approval of the personnel agenda. The board adopted a resolution to unseal and destroy official ballots from the May 23 school board election and budget vote, a routine post‑election procedure.
A separate intermunicipal agreement with Greene County and the Greene County sheriff was approved to provide a school resource officer for the 2024–25 school year at a cost of $69,605.05.
