Board approves routine personnel and finance items, declares two buses obsolete and accepts DECA donation

The board voted unanimously to approve instructional personnel items PI-1 through PI-6 and non-instructional items PNI-1 and PNI-2. The board also approved special-education personnel and related services as presented.
On finance matters, interim business official Doug Whelan asked the board to declare two district buses obsolete (one failed inspection; the other is roughly 10 years old with about 136,000 miles), accept a $5,000 donation from Arthur Simmons to the high-school DECA program, and appoint a new accounts-payable/treasurer staff member. Trustees moved, seconded and approved finance items A–C by a 6-0 vote.
No board member requested additional information and no votes failed. The board received informational items including warrants for October and November and a project timeline checklist used for budget planning.
The meeting proceeded to broader policy discussions and was adjourned at 8:31 p.m.
