The Fort Edward Union Free School District board approved routine consent items and several personnel actions during its meeting.
Under the consent agenda the board approved minutes, treasury reports and CPSE/CPSE recommendations, and accepted multiple community donations: winter accessories (scarves, mittens and gloves) from Saint Joseph’s Church; health supplies from Washington County Public Health; five bags of clothing from Cornell Cooperative Extension; $500 for the school nurse from First Baptist Church at Glens Falls thrift shop; and $1,000 for the backpack program from Windy Hills Golf Course. Each donation was moved and approved by voice vote.
On personnel the board accepted letters of resignation with intent to retire from Karen Galcic, effective June 27, 2025, and Christina Bump, effective June 30, 2025. Trustees thanked both employees for their service.
The board provisionally appointed Carissa Curry as clerk, effective Jan. 24, 2025, at an annualized rate of $35,169.87 pending civil‑service examination requirements and standard provisos. The motion was seconded and approved by the board.
The board also approved a motion to appoint Nicholas Controvsky as interim principal effective Feb. 11, 2025, under the terms described in the attached contract; the motion carried by voice vote.
The meeting adjourned without entering executive session.
