Fayetteville Middle School named reward school; principals report enrollment and spring events

Fayetteville school principals reported enrollment and upcoming events at the board's March meeting, and Fayetteville Middle School announced a state recognition as a 2022'2023 "reward school." The announcements were part of the meeting's principal reports section.

Askins Elementary principal Miss Baker listed current enrollment numbers by grade and described Read Across America activities for the week, mystery readers and a March 28 Arc Fest art night with student displays and local sponsors. "So this week at Askins, we're celebrating Read Across America week," Baker said, describing daily dress-up themes, mystery readers and community volunteers who will read to different grade levels.

Fayetteville Middle School Principal Mister McCormick reported enrollment for sixth through eighth grades totals 239, noted spring sports were beginning and said the school had been awarded the state's reward-school distinction for the 2022'2023 accountability cycle, citing strong student achievement and growth. "That comes as recognition for having outstanding student success and achievement and growth," he said.

Fayetteville High School Principal Mister Perrin reported total enrollment of 341, summarized recent Ag Ed Day activities and mock interviews with business partners that yielded job opportunities for students, and listed dates for performances of The Wizard of Oz and the incoming Freshman Forum on March 8.

The principals encouraged community attendance at school events and thanked partners and sponsors who supported student activities. The reports provided routine operational context for the board and highlighted recent student and staff accomplishments.
