Webster board accepts coaching and paraprofessional resignations, hears special-education staffing strain

The board moved to accept the resignation of Wade Rausch from teaching and coaching roles, noting his service since about 2010 and contributions to athletics and student rapport. The board also accepted the resignation of resource room paraprofessional Jordan Rezin, whose letter stated a last appointment date of Dec. 23, 2025. Both motions were carried by voice vote.
Principal Case reported the district's special-education child count has increased to roughly 84 students, the highest he recalled in more than two decades. He said the district currently has two open special-education positions with no applicants and plans to reopen a posting for an additional special-education teacher for the coming school year. "We're gonna open up that position again," he said, adding the assignment would be adjusted by IEP needs.
The board also approved Ryan Wagner as a volunteer coach for middle-school boys basketball. Trustees noted the district would look to local graduates and new teachers when recruiting for special-education roles, and that hiring timing would target the next academic year.
The actions create immediate hiring needs for classroom coverage and paraprofessional support and the board asked administration to proceed with recruitment and bring updates back to the board.
