The Elma School District board approved first readings of three policy updates during its Oct. 8 meeting.
Chair S1 moved approval of Policy 4060 (distribution of materials) on first reading; S2 described the change as a basic update consistent with prioritizing the 4000 series. The motion carried.
Policy 4110, governing citizen advisory committees and task forces, was presented as mainly a language cleanup; S2 said the policy had not been reviewed since November 2005 and was last updated in February 1997. S3 moved approval and the board approved the policy on first reading.
The board also approved Policy 4120 on first reading. S2 said the updates reflect the current RCW related to raffles. Members moved and seconded the motion and voted in favor.
Each item was recorded as a first reading and passed at this session; no second-reading schedules were specified on the record. The board handled the items as part of routine unfinished business and did not record roll-call tallies in the transcript.
