Board approves routine consent items, interdistrict agreement and donations; meeting date changed

At its regular meeting the Dieringer School District board approved routine business items and several agreements and donations, and took one substantive procedural step to delay a collective bargaining agreement for additional review.
The board approved the meeting agenda and the bulk of the consent agenda (minutes from May 20, June 10 study session minutes, payroll vouchers, and related items) after a member moved to pull one item (personnel recommendations) for separate consideration. The board later approved the personnel recommendations by voice vote with one opposing vote recorded.
The board approved an annual interdistrict agreement with the Puyallup School District for certain services and renewed its WIAA membership for 2023'24 as recommended on the agenda. The board accepted donations to the North Pappas Middle School choir and corrected and accepted a PTA donation for a third-grade field trip in the amount of $2,982.
The board also voted to change the district's August regular business meeting from Aug. 19 to Aug. 26. Multiple members voiced "Aye" on that motion.
One item was tabled: the Dieringer Classified Public Employees Association collective bargaining agreement was postponed after board members identified that five days of additional family sick leave had been removed from section 3.15.2; staff will return a corrected draft at the July meeting.
What's next: Routine items will proceed; staff will return the corrected CBA draft in July and will continue to share budget and audit information in upcoming meetings.
