State accountability audit finds no material weaknesses in Dieringer district finances

Laura Marco, the district’s executive director of business services, told the board the state’s accountability audit of public resources — covering school years 2021–22 through 2023–24 — showed no material weaknesses or deficiencies. Marco said the financial statement portion of the audit was previously reviewed and was also clean.
"We had a very, pretty lengthy audit this year," Marco said, and she thanked district staff for maintaining thorough records that helped the auditors; she said the audit team reviewed payroll, accounts payable, electronic funds transfers, levy sub‑fund expenditures, supplemental contracts, Open Public Meetings Act compliance, staff certification and other records.
Marco said the next accountability audit will occur in February 2027 and will cover fiscal years 2024–25 and 2025–26. Board members praised staff for the work that produced a clean result.
No corrective actions or material remediation were reported at the meeting.
