Board member Lohr moved to follow the superintendent's recommendation to approve the revisions "with an effective date of 01/01/2026." Board discussion clarified that the division is still finalizing the training outline and platform and that the intent of the board is to pay for background checks required by the policy.
The motion passed 5–0. Board members asked that training be accessible (a web-based platform) and include accountability measures to confirm completion.
