Prince Edward shows off 3‑D anatomy table in CTE program; district one of 39 K–12 sites in Commonwealth

Michelle Chris, an IT/CTE staff member, demonstrated a touchscreen 3‑D anatomy table and described classroom uses: "it is a 3 d...it allows us to have the kids dive into the human body, the different systems, how they work together..." She said the table uses scans from donated bodies and includes case studies with X‑rays and MRIs, allowing students to compare normal and abnormal anatomy.
Chris said Prince Edward is one of 39 K–12 environments in the Commonwealth with the technology and described how teachers use the main table and four tablets to create small‑group, hands‑on lessons for nursing and anatomy classes. Board members praised student engagement and encouraged broader use across health and science subjects.
The district indicated plans to explore additional apps for biology, chemistry and physics and to share the upcoming PBS Blue Ridge podcast episode that featured the program.
