Elementary construction moves ahead: abatement nearly complete, demolition to begin soon

The representative described the role of English Construction as the contractor and ECS as the materials‑testing agent, saying ECS will "test concrete boards...masonry...steel connections" and act as the owner's testing agency during the work. The project team will hold progress meetings twice a month and provide quarterly updates to the school board.
Board members asked about noisy demolition and how it would be scheduled around instruction; the presenter said typical working hours will be roughly 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and that contract language requires coordination to avoid instructionally sensitive activities. Some louder interior work could occur during holiday breaks to minimize disruption.
Officials also said the project sign and site fencing will be installed in the coming weeks and that staff will provide additional phasing details as the project proceeds.
