Board members discussed examples such as a principal supervising a spouse and suggested alternatives such as alternate reporting structures or explicit board authorization if direct supervision would otherwise occur. The chair proposed tabling the three policy revisions to allow administration to draft precise language; trustees agreed to return the item for consideration at the August meeting.
The motion to approve the policy packet with the three exceptions was made, and the board recorded the decision to table the three policy items pending refined language.
