The plan will remain partly internal: staff said some operational specifics will not be publicly posted, although parent-facing reunification procedures and general expectations would be shared.
Board members asked whether the plan would be posted publicly and how attachments would be handled; staff said the addendum would await board approval before posting and many specific operational details would be withheld to protect response integrity. The motion to approve the plan as an addendum to Mineral Point’s safety handbook carried on a voice vote.
The addendum includes mutual-aid language so districts can identify staff to be deployed across neighboring schools in a large incident. Staff described this as an add-on to the district’s existing procedures rather than a replacement of local protocols.
